Chandrataal
Chandrataal, meaning Moon Lake, is a crescent-shaped high-altitude lake sitting just beyond Kunzum Pass at over 4,300 metres. Its waters shift between turquoise, steel blue, and gold through the day, set against the bare peaks of the Kunzum range. As a protected Ramsar wetland, the lake is one of the most striking and ecologically sensitive stops on the Spiti circuit, reachable only for part of the year.
